EVENT INFO
Our 2025 Tinman Triathlon will take place on
June 21st, 2025 at the Vulcan Lions Community Pool

We Wanted to let you know that we are aware of the weather forecasts for this weekend and while it's not what we'd hoped for the current plan is to continue forward with race day.

As we all know weather in Alberta can change quickly so we will be monitoring it closely and will email all participants as well as post to our Facebook and Instagram if that plan changes.
We understand that choosing to participate is a personal choice and
you will have to make a decision that works for you.

Thank you so much for all your love and support to our
Vulcan Tinman Triathlon and we hope to see you Saturday.

Tinman 2025 Update
Hello Everyone,
We want to reach out with a little more information for all of you on how race day is going to go forward tomorrow. With such an important day ahead of us I'm sure you can all appreciate what a difficult decision it is to make based on a forecast when they can so often turn out not like they called them. We want to start by saying thank you so much for your kind words and support. We really do have the best racers!
We are going forward with the Tinman Triathlon tomorrow. We hope we are able to make it through the whole race but there is still a chance that the race is cancelled the morning of or even part way through the event. This would occur if the wind reaches unsafe levels, visibility in the pool becomes poor or there is excessive lightning. We will post to Facebook, Instagram and our website right away if the decision changes.
Every racer or guardian of a racer needs to make a personal risk assessment to decide if they are going to participate in the race. That is also a hard choice but a personal choice for you to make.
The weather is expected to worsen as the day goes on. The Half Tinman, Tinbits and Mini-Tin need to remain at their listed times. But if you are in the Full Tinman and arrive earlier in the day we are going to do our best to get people through the pool as early as we can.
Important for Mini-Tin:
We are going to shorten the bike route for the Mini-Tins so the Mini-Tins will turn around at Elizabeth St and Range Rd 245. Where the golf course ends right at the edge of town. There will be the same volunteers as always with a Mini-Tin Bike Turn sign, reflective vests and stop signs that are posted to ensure no one goes past.
Sadly the beer garden will not be going but Nine in a Line invites you to come visit them in the taproom after your race at 119 1 Ave N. We look forward to having them back with us next year.
And Finally, food. We are moving your post race meal 2 blocks down the street to the Vulcan Lodge Hall, located at 231 Centre St. We want you to be able to enjoy a hot meal out of the rain and our volunteers will be so happy to see you!
Today we will be on site setting up and preparing to welcome you so the ability to answer emails will be very limited but I'll do my best. In 34 years of races the Vulcan Tinman Triathlon has had all kinds of weather from sun, rain, snow to tornado warnings. We don't know for sure what tomorrow will bring but we're glad to experience it with you!
Sincerely,
The Vulcan Tinman Sport Association
